The Birth of Crazy Bikers: From Sketch to Reality

Crazy Bikers began as a spark of inspiration in the mind of co-founder Filip. It all started with a simple sketch—a modest beginning for what would later grow into a fully developed vision. Though the sketch was put aside, the idea continued to evolve in Filip’s mind. Momentum truly built when he teamed up with Danny, whose creativity helped shape detailed character profiles. The next challenge was clear: finding the perfect artist to bring their bold vision to life.

Enter the Artist

That’s where Steven Scot came in. A talented freelance artist with an impressive portfolio, including work for industry giants like DC and Marvel Comics, Steven had never designed a wine label before. But he eagerly embraced the challenge, creating dynamic initial sketches that captured the bold personalities of the Crazy Bikers. To bring even more vibrancy to the project, Steven’s wife, Hanna Auer, joined the effort. She used bold, bright colors to breathe life into the bikers and their world, giving the collection its signature look—a true reflection of their untamed spirit.

A Partnership with Passion: Bodegas Ignacio Marín

The perfect winery partner came through the efforts of William "Bossy Bill" Long, a long-time collaborator with Filip and Danny. When William learned about the Crazy Bikers project, he made it his mission to find the ideal winemaking partner. After over a year of searching, he introduced them to Bodegas Ignacio Marín, nestled in the heart of D.O. Cariñena. From the very first conversation, it was clear that Ignacio Marín shared the team’s enthusiasm and vision. The winery operates two distinct facilities, perfectly aligned with the Crazy Bikers concept. One produces high-quality wines on a large scale, while their smaller "garage winery" specializes in limited-edition batches from vineyards at 600 meters above sea level. These vineyards cultivate a wide range of grapes, from local varieties like Macabeo, Garnacha, and Garnacha Blanca, to international favorites like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The result? Extraordinary wines with distinctive blends that are a perfect match for the Crazy Bikers brand.

The Characters: A Personal Touch

Each biker character is named after someone close to the project, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the brand’s identity. These names represent the spirit, passion, and connections that drive the Crazy Bikers story forward.

Laid Back Leo is named after the firstborn son of winemaker Ignacio Marín. We thought it fitting to honor him with a character that embodies his spirit, wishing him a life filled with prosperity and success.

Creating Sexy Sue was a fun and exciting challenge. We wanted a character that embodied both playfulness and glamour, and during a brainstorming session, Steven suggested Scarlett Johansson as the perfect muse. After a quick sketch, Sexy Sue came to life, blending elegance and charm into a bold, unforgettable character.

Fat Jack is named after Filip’s godson, born in 2021. While Little Jack is far cuter than his label counterpart, we hope he grows up to be as strong and resilient as the character that shares his name—and from what we can see, he’s well on his way!

Big Lou is inspired by Danny’s five-year-old son, Louie, whose vivid imagination often had him compared to the Hulk. The larger-than-life character of Big Lou suits him perfectly, capturing his boundless energy and strength.

Bossy Bill is named after William Long, the key figure who connected the Belgian team with the winery in Spain. His pivotal role in bringing the Crazy Bikers vision to life earned him a character as bold and influential as his contribution.

This journey, from sketch to wine label, has been a labor of love, passion, and creativity, seamlessly blending the worlds of art and winemaking into one unforgettable experience.
